My father is not on my birth certificate. Will that be a problem?

Should i put his name on the G-235a application even if he is not on my birth certificate.

Yes, you require to fill his name on G-235a application.

Any reason why his name was not updated on your birth certificate? I think you can ask birth certificate department to update his name.

My very very first birth certificate didn't even have my name on that. Since in India, parents take alot of time to decide their baby names, and my birth registration was done in 1 month. So at that time, my name was not updated.

When I requested for new copies in 2011, then I got updated my name there, and got the certification with my official name.
