Ok by now your case must be at nvc so next step is to get a case number. Call NVC at 1 (603) 334-0700. Put this number on speed dial…it’s often busy, and you’ll use it a LOT. Use the automated phone system of nvc to get your NVC case number using your USCIS case number, then the automated message will tell your Case number (have a pen ready) if you get nothing from the automated voice then call again and try with a live operator they are very nice people. (most cases jeje)

2.Once your case number has been assigned call back and speak to an operator. Give them an e-mail address for you and for your spouse. From then on NVC will e-mail you any correspondence. Email is the faster way to get everything done with them, they will email you everything. ( take advantage of technology).

Next they will generate the form DS-3032 (form of choice of agent) this is a form than has a barcode wich is your case number in a format of a barcode wich the aplicant (the beneficiary) will fill to chose who is going to get the paper work could be you (the petitioner) or a lawyer (if you pay for one) ok, they will send it via email on a .pdf file to print it, and complete it, and sent it back to NVC at the address via mail or scan it and send it via email, they will comfirm when they accept it.

this process of the ds-3032 take patience, because your case has to be totally input on the system to be generated by them to sent it to you, you can generate it your self to have it ready if you want to go faster you can create a bar code of your case number and paste it on the ds-3032 (downloable from travel.state.gov) and fill it and send it a the rigth moment. but if you dont want to go with that hazle then with until they send it to your wife.

3- the other step is to pay for the visa fee, NVC has an online system where you can pay but you have to get an ID number (called IIN invoice identification number) from a live operator. but easy

lets first get your NVC case number then we can jump to next ill be happy to assist you, let me know if you are ready

but this is what you can try:

1- call NVC and get your case number

2- ask the operator if he or she can give you the IIN (invoice identification number ID) if they have (i think by now they have it)

3- and ask if they have generated the form ds-3032 (you never know does nor hurt to ask)

Good luck.

I called the nvc and no NVC number yet. I have another question...did you send the beneficiary's papers translated? I have them all ready for whenever they ask for them, but I am not sure if I should send translations. I want to start translating them now so that I can be ready, that is if a translation is needed. Thanks for all your help so far!

For NVC you dont need to translate them if they are in Spanish or english, but if they are in other lenguage yes.

To keep yall posted, on Jan. 13th we did finally hear from the NVC... My son is a household member and we filled out an 864A to help me out but being that I had sponsored another person 6 years ago I was short on my I864 and with my son we more than passed the poverty line.... However, the NVC asked if he can fill out a regular I-864, as a joint sponsor, since he does not have any dependants I guess this would look better to be finally closed... so we sent out the next day Jan. 14, and today Jan. 17th the NVC received.... so we wait again.... I just hope we filed out this form correctly, uggghhhhhh

hi chula, well the invoice id number is a number that your case has if you want to pay your fees online with a credit card or bank account, but if you are doing every thing via mail, ( like sending checks or money orders) then you dont need, the point of this is so you can take advantage of going fast, thats why the nvc recommends every one to give them your email so they can send you all the paperwork via email on pdf files, saves time to you, and money and work to them, it is more efficient.

How it works:

If you pay the AOS fee online after nvc acepts your payment then on the same website they will generate a pdf file wich is call ( Barcode sheet ) or (barcode cover letter ) once you print this paper you are ready to send all the papers related with the AOS (form I-864 ) and the nvc is ready to accept them (because they know you paid online already).

Same thing with the visa application fee, once you paid online after nvc acepts your payment then on the same website they will generate a pdf file wich is call ( Barcode sheet ) or (barcode cover letter ) once you print this paper you are ready to send all the papers related with the visa application papers ( form DS-230).

But if you want to do things via regular mail thats fine but it takes a little bit longer to get an interview date.

Hope this help. regards

Hi Neto11! So we finally got our NVC number and IIN today...what next?

Congrats, now is time to send the DS-3032 and your petitioner to pay all the fees with the IIN number, after the nvc accepts the payments you will be able to print the receipt barcode or Barcode cover sheet of the AOS and visa application and send all documents related this a short answer is better if you see the answer of your personal message.

But if you dont know how to pay the fees i can explain, it is better firs to call NVC and ask whats up with the Choice of agent form DS-3032, and well if the NVC payment website accepts the payment i would go ahead and pay. lets make sure with NVC, call them, they will help tell you.
