Hey Everyone!!

Hoping I can get some advice. My fiance and I both met when we were students in London in 08. And long story short we plan on getting married this Christmas. We both just graduated, and although I'm a nanny I don't make enough to sponsor, but my parents are willing to co sponsor. My father just received a pay raise about 2 months ago, and now he makes enough to qualify under the 125% rule. The problem is, on the tax form we would send with the Affadavit of Support might not show that he makes over the require 37,000 (I have a younger brother and sister, this makes my father's dependents as five, and then six with my fiance). Basically, what should we do? I know we have to send the tax paper but can we send further proof that he makes more? Such as pay stubs or a letter from his employer? Thanks a bunch!!!

So you are getting married this Christmas then afterwards filing for the CR-1 visa? By the time you need to submit the Affidavit of Support you will have your father's tax return for 2011 (which will at least be higher than his 2010 one), and YES you also include recent pay stubs and a letter from the employer. So long as you can prove that the figure you give for his current annual income is a realistic estimate, the lower income as shown on his tax forms will not matter :-)

If you have no dependants, no children under 21, and your spouse is the only person immigrating, then indeed you will need to prove an income above $18,387.
