US citizen marrying Foreigner that alreadys is in the US

Hi guys!!

Im currently in NY in a F-1 student visa and will marry an American citizen. Is K-1 the right type of application if I already am in the US?

Anyone could spare a minute and clear up my mind about that?

If you are planning to marry in US and stay here you can go with I-130 and I-485 approach. If you are planning on going back your country and wait for visa it will be I-130 for CR-1 (could take about a year to get it).

Looks at the guides on the forum. You can't go with K-1 as you will be married, and K-1 is a fiancee visa.

for a K1 you will have to wait until your fiance files an aplication for you and they approve it and sent it to your country Embassy for an interview. So if you just want to get married now it wont be a K1.

just get marry here and apply to get adjusted dont leave the country no point and takes sames time i believe..once you are here you are here..just make sure everything is legal and scams so it doesnt get delay other than that good luck..
