Hello All,

I need some advise what to do or expect.... My fiance and I went to the visa interview on 9/29 and After spending about 5 hours there, the visa was approved... We got the receipt and were asked to pay the $12.50 for the delivery of the documents.... According to the USA Embassy website in Santo Domingo, it takes couple of days for the visa to be printed and handed to the carrier for it to be delivered... However, It has been more than 2 weeks and we have not received anything......

I asked my fiance to go to the Embassy today and ask for some info because when we track it on the DOMEX website, it only says "In consular Process".... She went today and was told that the case is in administrative process....

Does any one have any idea why it may be? Is it something that normally happens with K-1 visas? It is really driving me crazy because my father's case was also put on administrative process and it has not been cleared yet.... (the reason appears to be because someone has a similar name and they want to investigate he is not that person...)

I think this is just unacceptable.. I know my father's case is different but how long do this people need to process a case... For all the money we pay and the stress we go through this process should be quicker...

I will appreciate if anyone can give me some advice....

Thanks!

Thank you all for your replies.... I really appreciate them.. I am wondering if those people do anything there... It looks like they think we have all the time in the world to wait for them....

Just Frustrating....

Does anyone of you think that it has something to do with my Dad's case which is in AD for about 4 months now?

Thanks!

You can also call the Visa Specialist and ask if the visa has been printed. They usually have accurate info. Good luck just a little more waiting,

Check out my "About Me" tab on my profile to learn about my detailed timeline with the K-1 Visa and AOS process....

I have called already and they say they didn't even knew the visa was approved.. the info they had was that the case has a scheduled interview which we have already gone through....

I think the VS sometimes help but most of the time they just give you the same info... Instead of paying for every call, I think going to the actual embassy may be more effective (they do have the most resent info there)...

Anyways, I hope to hear from them about my two cases (father and fiance)..

Thanks!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi, well my finance case in also in AP and we had our interview August 24,2011. They tell me we have to wait. on the State web site it said it should be competed in 60 day but you can't find out any thing. they tells you to wait 90 days from you interview to call and find out. but i have the feeling the wait is much longer. i have read people on AP for a long time. we just have to pray it goes by fast. they have every body lives on HOLD. because you can't do any thing or call any body.

Why did you get put on AP? did they approved the visa?

I think they are doing this to everybody.. My father's case just got out of the AP after 6 months... I think they are trying to process my father's case before they print my GF's visa... I hope she didnt get a hit on their DB because that is what makes the process complicated...

Yes his Visa was approved, the crazy thing is we don't know why it's in AP. we did even know until he went back to the US embassy to find out why he has not recieve his passport or visa. this was serveral weeks later. we didn't even know his case was under AP. we didn't get and notice or paper nothing at all. Just that the Visa was approved and pay Domex thats it.
