our petition was approved on 8.5.11 and on the I-797 it states that the petition was approved and forwarded to the listed consulate, which in our case should be Guangzhou, China. However, it has been 2 1/2 months and we still have not heard from Guangzhou. We contacted them and they replied that they have no record of our case and that we should contact the NVC so I did, NVC replied:

"Please be advised that the National Visa Center (NVC) contacted U.S.

Citizenship Immigration Service (USCIS) in regards to your approved

petition. This petition is located at the USCIS office of the (VERMONT

SERVICE CENTER). Please contact USCIS at 1- 800-375-5283 or visit

their web site at www.uscis.gov for additional information."

USCIS says they can't help because our petition has been approved and is no longer in their hands.

in the guidelines section of this forum it states that NVC should have our case in about a week, it has been over 2 months

please help!
