Again, K3 and/or CR-1

We found out this week that our K3 interview is set for October 12. I just got the automated response from NVC that they sent us a RFE yesterday for our CR-1.

So this leaves exactly 3 weeks for me to receive the RFE, deal with it, whatever it may be, and get it back to the NVC. Then who knows how long it will take for them to complete the review, and then get it to the consulate.

I was really hoping that the CR-1 was going to be there before the K3 date, and would have been had I not screwed something up. Maybe not putting the case number on all the pages is coming back to haunt me. :D

At this point I am resigned to expect the CR-1 will not beat the K3 interview date, but we really rather have the CR-1.

What I am still not sure about is if we go ahead and interview for the K3, how much does this affect what we will need to do for the CR-1 once it gets to the consulate? Should we go ahead and cancel the K3 since the CR-1 is not far behind? Would the consulate be a good source of information about all this?

I would just hate for my wife to have 3 medical exams and collect 3 sets of police reports, and the other info. I would would be nice if the consulate kept everything from the K1 lase year and let us use that.
