Been in AR for over 9 weeks. I faxed 3 times, emailed, and my fiancee sent a written letter for which they claime never received. I hired a lawyer and he sent a request along with G28 forms and they claim not have received. It seems they receive when it makes sense to them. There is no end in sight. My fiancee and me have been together almost 2 years I visisted 6 times. We talk 3-4 hours a day. I even presented myself at the interview so sh did not have to face it alone. The process does not make sense to me. As an American Citizen, I feel my rights are not rights. Can't get information. Can't find out. These people controlling our life. The right to freedom, information, the pursuit of happiness all held up by people who can hide behind emails and phones and immune. This is not what the United States is or is about. So in order to exercise my rights, I have to contact State Senators (which I did) and hope they can place the right emphasis on the right person. My theory of what is going on is a paper pusher who is lazy and letting piles of paper pile up. The backup therory is that we are dealing with a crab mentality. http://www.ich9.com/cultural-baggage/what-is-filipino-crab-mentality/

Going on 9 weeks myself now. Still nothing but copy/paste replies from the embassy. I know my email/call records have to be adding up nicely now. Congressman put in a request for us but he got the same canned response as I did. It's just so ridiculous and frustrating it makes my head hurt.

My parents had an interview 12/08/2011. My mom got the visa but my dad was put on AP without any documents needed. All it says is "WAIT". My dad works in Libya, when the unrest broke out early this year they were sent home. The CO asked my dad that if he gets a visa would he go back to Libya. My dad said "yes", the CO asked "To retire?", he said "yes". Then the CO said, I can't decide right now because I haven't dealt with this kind of situation. They took my dad's passport but now my dad needs his passport back because they are being called to go back to Libya for work. he needs to go back so he can get his retirement benefit and leave the company in good terms.

Well after 2 months of continuous phone calls and emails to the embassy we finally got our answer. My fiance called again for any new info and we were informed that the visa was released on Dec 14th. We never got an email, phone call or any notification from the embassy even though they said "We will notify you once it's released". This does not surprise me one bit from my experience with this process so far. We were a bit in shock when the lady on the phone said the visa had been released already.

I left the Philippines on the 13th and she was supposed to come back with me. I almost want to think they released it the day after I left on purpose. :) Ah well...hopefully there are no more hang ups along the way. She'll finally be here shortly after new years if the rest goes well. Good Luck to you. I hope you hear something soon. I know how frustrating it is.

YAY!!! My dad was issued a visa after 1 week of being under AP    I e-mailed them re: his visa stating that he doesn't fit any of the INA Category. He got a white paper where the only thing marked was "WAIT". Awesome Christmas present!!!!
