Ok perhaps this is a dumb question but is there more then one NOA1 that you receive. Looking at some timelines I saw some people with 2 dates for receiving this. I have received the I-797C, Notice of Action. The notice type says receipt notice. Is this all I will get until an RFE(hopefully not) or an NOA2 or will I get a different NOA1? Any knowledge anyone might share would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance to all that respond.

Matt,

NOA1 is DIY-speak for Receipt Notice. NOA2 is DIY-speak for Approval notice.

But it doesn't always work that way. You can only get 1 NOA1 - by definition - and it may or may not be a Receipt Notice. Similarly for NOA2.

So you can use the NOA1 NOA2 terminology if you want, but if your NOAs don't fit the usual pattern then it's probably better to identify the NOAs by their written type.

With that loecture out of the way, if you've already gotten your 'NOA1' Receipt Notice there's no way that you can get a "different NOA1".

Looking at some timelines I saw some people with 2 dates for receiving this.

....... You may also be seeing "Received Dates" and "Notice Dates".

For instance, my I-797 Notice of Action lists a "Recevied Date" of July 3, and a "Notice Date" of July 21 .... perhaps some people are listing both dates in their timelines/posts ...???

6/29 - NEW I-129 mailed to CSC

7/21 - NOA1 issued

9/21 - finally ... my first touch!!

9/21 - NOA2 issued

Ok that clears it up. I just wanted to make sure that I would not be receiving another one. Thank you so much to all of you for the fast response. It is very much appreciated. :)
