Hello American/British couples,

I was hoping you could help give me an idea, based on your own experience, of how long Visa processing takes once you get to the Medical Exam/Embassy Paperwork part of things. My fiance sent in his paperwork to the London embassy on Aug.30 and had his medical exam on Sep.15. Im trying to predict when we might hear from them regarding his interview date. Ive heard that they set the interview for a month from whatever date they finished processing everything. Do you know if that is something that can be rescheduled to get done a couple weeks sooner?

Any info or advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Also any phone numbers I can contact would be helpful. I tried calling the London embassy but they said they have very limited information and could only give me timelines, nothing specific to my case.

Thank you!

Jaclyn

Take a look at my timeline. They are slow right now in dishing out appts. They told me to wait 7 weeks, which I was told was the average amount of time right now from the time they get the DS2001 and medical results...that is assuming they have not "misplaced" your paperwork, like they did ours.

Callers from within the United Kingdom should dial 09042-450-100. Calls to this line are charged at £1.23/min plus network extras. Callers from outside the U.K. and some mobile and network providers cannot access this number.

CalleCallers from within the United States should dial 1-866-382-3589. Callers are charged a fixed rate of $16:00 which is payable by credit card - Visa, MasterCard, American Express only. Please ensure that you have your credit card details available when making the call and note that you will be required to provide the agent with a U.K. address when scheduling the appointment.

Best of luck to you!

Don't call the London Embassy. It is expensive and no more informative than the much, much cheaper DOS operator number.

Call DOS on 1-202-663-1225 press 1 for the main menu and then 0 for an operator. They will be able to tell you at which stage your case is currently at.
