What to expect when called by the Embassy for a K-1 interview for the first time??

My fiance just sent the application. What should I prepare if I get notified? I got all the evidences ready (screenshots: email, call logs, video calls, magicjack, yahoo messenger logs, stamped passport, ticket, credit card statement of the petitioner and the beneficiary, hotel receipts, shopping receipts, pictures- no digital date showing though).

Should I apply for a passport now (or do I need to apply for a specific type of passport???), CENOMAR (Certificate of Singleness), Police Clearance (been to only one place since 16 yrs old) and NBI Clearance now (to show I am not a convict, have not been convicted or on the lose)?

Anything else I need to prepare?

What are the usual questions?

I do not like the feeling of in a rush that's why I need everything ready now. Any input will be appreciated.

hi,

your doing a pretty good job,is your passport is about to expire?if it is yes you better apply for a new one,is the picture of you and your fiance has a date on it and the place where that pic taken?

firstly you need to provide that you guys have met in person, within two years thats very basic, then ofcourse proof of bonafide relationship you know all those stuff right?plus showing how you guys communicate everyday, save all the paperwork, once you got approve your fiance need to supply you an affidavit of support, seems your were excited thats good.

about the sample questions at CO its very basic too if you guys know each other enough then your fine, you can google it type "k-1 visa sample interview questions"

the waiting game is just begun start searching here at VJ ABOUT THE K-1 PROCESS AND TIMELINE

good luck dude

It's better to have your passport ready:) I believe that the processing of getting a passport will take a month or so.. So apply now for your passport if you dont have, or renew it if its going to expire..

I think you are all set with the evidences, but make sure pictures of you and your fiance has a date on it like mentioned above.:)

I will also suggest to get a police certificate if you lived in any country (aside from Phils) for more than six months. I think there are some countries which does not require PC. Obtaining police certificate from outside the Phils will take a while, so have it ready also:).

Dont forget Birth Certificate is one of the requirements too. And if you were married before or either of you two then there are some additional proof of documents.. Dont know much about that:)

I hope a little info will help you and good luck with your journey:)

Our pics doesn't have any digital print on it. My fiance has already left when I learned about it. But I have everything else.

I only lived in the same address since I was 12 yrs old so I got no problem.

So I'll just start working on a passport, Police Clearance and NBI as early as now. Thanks for the input and the link.

Happy New Year!

whats the difference between I-134 and I-864? Are both of these needed for K-1 application process?

Unless I am regionally incorrect (they're kind of strict there, yes?). It's a blanket rule that K-1's fill out I-134 for the K-1 interview. I-864 is for someone doing Aadjustment of status, like you will be later on in your journey or like someone applying for a spousal visa.

Strict? Hell yeah. More than you could ever imagine. It's more strict than I thought. ha ha...

Oh so I don't need to worry about I-864 yet. That's after the marriage. Thank you so much for that.

Happy New Year!
