Hi I'm just trying to get my vaccinations sorted before my medical and I was wondering if anyone had any advise on what Vaccinations they required from the UK, on the Travel Stete website they ask for,

Hepatitis A

Hepatitis B

Influenza

Influenza type b (Hib)

Measles

Meningococcal

Mumps

Pneumococcal

Pertussis

Polio

Rotavirus

Rubella

Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids

Varicella

I just spoke with my Doctor and he said boosters of,

Hep A

Hep B

Measles

Meningococcal

Mumps

Polio

Rubella

Tetanus and Diphtheria

Is all that would be necessary, how does this sound?

On the website where it lists at what ages you should have boosters go with that. I know that the tetnus probably would have to be up to date and as another person pointed out they do 2 mmr jabs if you haven't had both of those but most of those requirements are only needed in children.

Here's the list: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/39181/pdfs/vaccinechart.pdf It's out of date so know that you DON'T need the HPV vaccine.

I'm assuming you're female and aged 18-64. So you just need to have had TDaP and two MMRs. If it is flu season (October to March) when you have your medical you will also need the influenza shot (again, the link I gave you is out of date.)

That's all you need to have. Obviously if you and your doctor decide to get some of your other vaccines up to date as well that is fine. Not sure if the NHS will cover "unnecessary" influenza shots but you will need that if you have your medical after this month.

Yes Joanne is absolutely correct!! I fall into the 18-64 age group too...

I had to go back and get my MMR booster four weeks after the initial one, I didn't need a flu jab as it was a cople of weeks ago and not flu season yet. I got the Hep B x 2 (which I later found out wasn't needed) but hey, I guess it won't hurt huh? (They were all free)!!

Good luck with your medical, mine was at 8.50am (the 1st appt that day) so I was out of there in less than an hour..
