I sent our I-129F and got the NOA1 on April 25, 2011. I know it states that processing time is 5 months, but I've seen quite a few people on here who filed on or later than that date and they have already received their NOA2. Am I worrying too much over not getting a N0A2 yet? Should I call them? I know I'll probably get the "its not 5 months yet" excuse though.

I checked the USCIS Case Status: It's still in Initial Review

Were those approved NOA2s expedited? Maybe those cases were handled by a more efficient adjudicator. Maybe the background check in your case is taking longer. I wouldn't worry too much about it yet, since your case is still within "the normal processing time." I wouldn't rely too much on USCIS case status, either. My case still says, "Initial Review"

You'll get your NOA2 soon! :D

Heh, I dunno if they were expedited or not. I'm mainly a lurker on the site, but I stumbled on various people who had their NOA2 and they filed on my date or few days later. So that got me worried a little like "why did they get there's and not me" worried. Heh yeah the case status on their site is way off... they mailed out my NOA1 days before they updated the site. So who knows... it might be in the mail already. HOPING LOL *sigh*

Yep... 5 months is considered average. There are various reasons for the time frame - sometimes its just that the person processing the pile you are in is slower. The waiting gets difficult at this point but its just the way it is... best of luck with your petition.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .
