Hi,

My wife's case was completed at NVC on August 1st, 2011. I have checked this status using NVC Automated voice response (AVR) system and also from the operator. However, I have not received any email confirmation about it from NVCInquiry@state.gov.

1. When the Interview is scheduled at US Consulate in Mumbai, will the NVC AVR system tells the updated status & the interview date OR I have to wait to receive an email from NVC containing appointment date & official letter.

2. The Operator asked me to check back on Aug 16th for the interview date, since all completed cases are sent to Mumbai US consulate office in Second week of the month. Is there a possibility of receiving the interview date any time before that ?

Thanks !

Wait for an email, you should be receiving one pretty soon. My case was completed on July 28, 2011 and I received an email on August 2, 2011 with an interview date and as of today August 4, 2011 the AVR has not been updated. The automatic message still says that my case was completed July 28, 2011 and nothing more. Good Luck.

You and your spouse will get the e-mail once NVC sets the date.

On average. From case complete at NVC to the date of the interview is on average of 50-55 days for Mumbai Consulate. You can expect a mid to late September Interview date. The very latest being middle of October.

Good Luck!
