Hi everyone.

I'm (hello I'm Phil) in the final stages of my K1 visa. Can't wait to get back to my fiancee, really sucks being apart.

I have been motoring along with this process as well as I think can be.

Had my medical 2weeks ago and now have my interview scheduled for Aug 9th in London.

Mild panic this morning. I was reading the list of documents required to take to the interview. (link from the receipt of interview date) http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new...plication.html

I have duplicates or copies of everything except a copy of the proof of financial support.

I submitted all documents to get the interview, not realizing I needed to make a copy of the affidavit of support.

What can I do?

Thank you and wish you all well with your process's!

Am I reading this site wrong...I'm lost on what I need to take with me to the interview.

I sent the full required packet to get the interview. I have to believe all documents must have been correct and satisfactory, as I have been given an interview date.

You didn't need to send in the I-134 + evidence with the Packet 3 forms, if I remember from my P3. You take the originals to the interview.

I'm not sure if you sent the originals you need to take them with you - but if they ask you for them you could explain they're already in your file.

NickNich will be along shortly, I'm sure.

David.

Agree with David. The documents will be in your files. You'll get called to a window to turn in documents. Tell them you mistakenly sent them and to look in the file. You don't really need original and duplicate of the Affidavit of Support. Only things you might want back like your birth certificate.

Hi Phil,

At your interview they will want to see that your fiancee is able to support you for your new life in the states.

So as far as supporting evidence that you need to bring along to the interview would be a completed I-134 from your fiancee. This will include a letter from her employer proving her yearly earnings, tax transcripts from the last three years including W2's, and pay stubs from the last six months or so.

At my interview they only asked for my fiancees letter from her employer, but it is better to go well prepared.

Hope this helps

Thank you all for your responses.

I called the million pound a minute phone number. They were super helpful, well super friendly and gave me an email address and ID code to send an explanation/question to.

Hoping the will just hold them.

I'm preparing duplicates to take with me just in case. Though the phone operator suggested (no guaranteed) that they could hold or send them back to me.

Thank you again.

Cheers Phil

Not sure people are understanding your question by telling you about providing support documents. You have everything needed for approval, but the documents just went to the embassy by mail instead of going in your hand. It's not the first time it's happened and you know they aren't lost in the mail because you wouldn't be given an interview if the package hadn't been received by the embassy. They just prefer you keep hold of your important docs, but it's not a crisis they already have them. Now having the embassy return them back to you is taking a chance that they actually make it back in time via Royal Mail and don't get lost.

What is your fear?? That they won't let you in the door? Again, you are NOT the first person to make this mistake. It's not a crisis.

Yeah I wondered about this too, like I guess they use standard forms for all embassies perhaps, but why on EARTH would they write on the 156K that they want you to send this ("THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS MUST BE ATTACHED IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR A FIANCE(E) NONIMMIGRANT VISA.") if they don't want it. I've heard this is just a London thing, but really? I'm having trouble convincing my fiance not to attach them.

In any case, I really hope it works out, I'm sure they will put it in your file for you, because that is a chore to fill out. You'll probably just get the stink eye at the counter haha.
