My suggestion is, if in doubt take it. But having been there, it would be adviseable to for sure take the things that I've listed.

 ditto

So, rlt, according to eclowjpd's advice, we should bring everything listed on I-134. You just need to get the bank letter. You have the other two documents.

Edited by Mew

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Pay Stubs? LOL. I haven't seen a pay stub in 10 years. It's all electronic now. The only way I know I've been paid is to check that the direct deposit made it into the bank, which has never failed me yet thank goodness.

Yes, I will just follow the instructions on the I-134.

I-134 which has been notarized.

Letter from employer stating income/how long/title/etc.

Letter from bank stating last 12 months deposits and balance.

Last years 1040.

They can't expect more than what it asked for.

Question: I'm going to be unemployed for October and November (traveling South America, then Europe) and when I get back, it will be to a different job. I'm using a cosponsor because of that, but as far as getting MY I-134 together, can I just do it now before I start traveling? Mew said it's good for 1 year and mine isn't the most important affidavit anyway since I have a cosponsor, so is it ok??

Also, eclowjpd.

Did you bring and showed them the bank deposits to be safe or they actually mentioned and asked for it?

It´s just that on the paper I got from the Consulate they don´t say anything about it and even when they mention the other evidences they list them as options, not saying we MUST bring them all.

I´m not trying to convince people not to bring it, and yes, better safe than sorry.

I´m just trying to realize if that´s one of the proofs we can show or if this is a must.

Thank you very much.

I´d like to here Carol and Lisz´s inputs as well.

I put the bank information and the other financial evidence liste in the instructions behind the i-134. and this was then handed in with all of the paperwork before the interview. At the interview, he asked for the tax returns, and did not ask for the pay stubs. During the interview I noticed he wrote on several documents in red (which scared the ####### out of me!). He didn't mention any of the financial information during the interview other than asking for the tax returns that I did not include in the packet at first. I noticed he wrote on some of the financial stuff, but could not say for sure what.

Apparently, this debate will go on forever.

Do we all agree that it's safe to bring the documents asked for in I-134? Do we all agree that the supporting documents listed in the instructions that come in packet 3 are examples of should be brought to the interview but there is not a document/list prepared by the consulate that says that such and such documents are strictly necessary?

Let's not freak out? Maracuginaaaaaaa!

Yeah, I think they'll basically check the I-134 and the tax return and nothing else really. Unless we get a picky official, which is my only fear for this interview.

Last time the guy kept staring at me and asking the same question over and over and over and over again as if he'd make me nervous and change my answer. Not a pleasant experience, but it was a tourist visa and I hope this guy doesn't work on immigration interviews. :P
