NOA2 Sent to Montreal questions

Hi Everyone!

So our approved NOA2 went through the NVC and got sent to the Montreal Embassy on May 23rd.. but I called the NVC and they said that they don't have a tracking number .. so how will I know it arrived there? I can't call the Embassy because they don't have a phone number but I could e-mail.... is this normal? Also Can I start filling out the forms because I have the case number now? Or do I need to wait to see what else they send?

Hi Natalie & Ryan!

You'll want to start calling DoS (post on that subject here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/) to inquire if Montreal has received your case and if packet 3 has been sent out yet. They're notoriously backed up so there could be a delay (It was 2 weeks between NVC sending ours and Montreal "receiving" it, for example). From there, you should check out the Canadian Regional forum (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/93-canada/) there have been a lot of people on how to deal with the Montreal consulate and get through that stage as quickly as possible!
