Hi fellow VJ members,

My fiancee submitted her passport for Police Clearance Certificate and that process is taking longer time.

She has her visa appointment on 16th June.

That means she need to get her medical exam done before June 2nd.

Her chance of getting passport from PCC before that date is slim.

So I am checking if she can go to for the Medical exam without the passport.

As per the Chennai(India) consulate web site, you need passport for medical exam.

Thank you in advance.

Hai, I'm also applying for spouse visa.

I dont know about taking passport to medical but you can call them and ask.

I did and they said only to bring original apportionment letter and they fix the date according to our appointment and everything and they make sure we get medical report before interview.

I have question regarding police certificate.

Other then getting clearance from passport office do we need to have any else for police certificate?

I also applied for passport clearance and waiting for passport to come.

But confused weather to get any certificate from police station or not?

Thanks

Good Luck.

Hi,

Initially we thought we can apply for the Police Clearance certificate only after getting the communication from Chennai Consulate.

But our assumption is wrong. We can start the PCC process even before application reaches the consulate.

In Hyderabad, we have to apply for the PCC at the passport office and they will communicate with the Police and return it after all the verifications by police. This is a lengthy and slow moving process.

It may take minimum one month to few months.

We are trying to see if we can show our visa interview date and the medical exam etc.. and get the process expedited.

You need your passport for the medical. At least for mumbai hospitals they insist that you have your passport. You should call up the hospital and check, unlikely you can go without it though.

How long did it take you to get the police clearance, and when did you apply for it (i mean after what process, eg- packet 3 or packet 4 or after interview letter)

I just received packet 3 from embassy and now going to the embassy to submit 156,230 & statement.

Hi,

What we came to know (of course little late and lot of tension) is that we can apply for the police clearance certificate even before the consulate

sends packet 3 (or packet 4). Chennai is sending only one packet. It may take more than one month for the police clearance certificate. You may try to go to the Passport office and try to show your interview date/medical test appointment etc and keep on trying showing the urgency.

csk.
