How soon can we call DOS to find out interview?

My Fiancee sent off P3 on Monday April 25th.

Consulate received on Thursday April 28th.

HOw soon can I start calling DOS to see when interview is set?

I am checking out flights to get to China and came across some good deals in June. Really don't want to wait till the 2 week window when she receives P4 to book a flight.

Call today. On my wife's case, CR1, she received her notice on 17 April for an Interview date for 4 May....

K1 may be a little different, but you can call DOS....

If they have her P3 back, they will schedule soon...so I would call EVERY day until you find the interview is scheduled. I didn't call DOS because I thought it would take time, and we only had a 17 day notice from P4 to interview. Don't get stuck in this situation too, brother! Good luck!

Hi DavidQ, we have the same timeline as you. I am searching for the June tickets too. The prices were expensive around $1600. I am in CA. Can I know where you found the good deals? Also, have you found any good hotels in Guangzhou near the consulate?

Check with FlyChina.com for good flight information. I bought my tickets there the past 3 trips. I just came back from a 3 week visit. Virginia to Atlanta to Los Angeles to Shanghai to Chongqing was $1400.

I think I have checked every possible search engines and airlines directly. Starting June 1st there is nothing under 1500.00. Summer Travel season and oil prices I am sure are the problem.

I did find a flight From Denver to Shanghai. Layovers in LA and SF on the way there. But just Layover in LA on the way home. 1275 on priceline. Still around 60 seats left so I have a little time. As long as the price doesn't go up?!?! CTRIP gives me a flight from Shanghai to Guangzhou for little less than 100 dollars. Not bad! Redeye flight but doesn't bother me.

Thanks for every ones help. I did not make it home in time to call DOS tonight so I will take all my information with me tomorrow. GZ consulate was closed on Monday anyways. I will start calling tomorrow.

Heya, I checked for the the week of June 10 flying out and coming home on June 18th. that is where I got the flight for 1275.00 When I checked just from San Fran It was 1100.00 Of course that is flying into Shanghai. I have never been there so the fiancee says depending on what day the interview is she will go with me to Shanghai and spend a few days "having a look" SHe has been there and knows it. I hhave not. So I would like to check things out also.
