Hello am a new member here. I have some questions especially for Thais who waited in getting their VISA approved here in Thailand.

I received and sent packet 1 yesterday. They were biographic data, non-immigrant visa and supplemental visa application and non-immigrant fiance/fiancee visa form. My fiance has started my visa last February and I only recieved the first packet a week ago. How long will it take me to get an interview? Is it difficult to get my visa approved here? By the way, am not Thai..but I'm working here in Thailand. What should I expect after getting packet 1? Could I see some timeline from Thai members here?

Thank you so much! Sawasdee kha! :)

Squirmy mold,

For the avoidance of confusion, what you are calling "packet 1" is commonly known as 'packet 3' (for historical reasons).

A few years back it used to be quite constant at 3 months from visa application to interview, then it got chaotic after the tsunami and seems to settle down at around 2 months. Don't know what it is now, perhaps Mew's link will give you a good idea.

The consulate in Bangkok is known for being very 'easy' with respect to K visas (in stark contrast for their reputation for B visas). Don't know how you being a non-Thai might affect that, could depend on what your nationality is and what you're doing in Thailand. (You're not a 'visa runner' are you?)

Hello Yodrak!

Sorry, I don't know how to call these packets..I thought they are packet 1 because they were the first packet that I've received after my fiance piled his petition. I don't even know the meaning of the abbreviations that members have been using here. Sorry for the ignorance. :hehe:

I hope I will not have difficulty in getting VISA because am a Filipino. I'm working in a government school and I have my working permit and legal working visa here.

Regards..
