My joint sponsor makes well above the poverty guidelines with his individual income, but he files his taxes married filing jointly with his wife. He has completed a I-864. Does his wife also need to complete a I-864 or a I-864A? They each make enough by themselves, but since they file their taxes married filing jointly I am not sure what to do? They do not live with my wife and I and they both meet all requirements to be joint sponsors. We have their past 3 years tax returns, birth certificates, employer letters, etc. Thank you, for your time and help.

You the petitioner must file your own I-864. You select "Part 1." 1. a. on the form. Select 8. and select YES.

The co-sponsor will file another I-864. Co-sponsor selects "Part 1." 1. d. on the form. Select 8. and select YES.

What is their (co-sponsor) household size? Husband + Wife + kids + your spouse = ?
