Hello,

I have a question regarding the Affidavit of Support for a Fiance Visa. Our petition has been approved in the states and has been sent to the US embassy in London. My fiance is currently filling out the initial package to send into London. With these papers, he needs the Affidavit of Support form from me. I am a substitute teacher so therefore, do not meet the income requirements. I live with my parents and intend to do so until my fiance and I can get on our feet and I can secure a full time teaching job. I have had my parents fill out the I-134 Affidavit of Support form as well. Is this correct? Is there anything else they need to fill out? Could we possibly be rejected on the basis that I don't have sufficent funds? Everything has gone fairly smoothly and we're so close to reaching the end, I can't help but be a nervous wreck that my income could ruin it all. Please offer any advice you can, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!

You and I have the literal exact same situation. Teacher who can't find a job, living with mom until we get on our feet etc. Anyways, not to worry. Have one of your parents file out the I-134 and have all of the necessary paperwork such as old taxes with W2's, current paystubs and letters from employers and you will be all set. You don't need to have enough funds if you have a cosponsor who does. You do however have to fill out the I-134 anyways as you are the main sponsor even if you don't make anything.

You'll be fine.
