Hi everyone.... my AOS interview is coming up. I needed some input. My wife is my petioner and she makes good money. Only thing is that she hasnt filed for her tax return this year. We are trying to file it before going for the interview but in any case, wont get the tax return paper in that time. Will that make a difference? Secondly, do i need to take a certified copy of the marriage cert? Everything else is covered.

Would appreciate any help in this regards,

cheers.

Yes you should bring a certified copy of your marriage certificate.

Also, as long as your wife has all her W2's and 1099's she could just log onto turbotax and start preparing her return - its super easy, especially if you guys are doing the standard deduction. When your done, in about 30 minutes max, they have an option that lets you print out the return, even if you choose to efile. That way you can bring the copy tomorrow.

If you can't do this on time, just bring your wife's W2's to the interview.

GOOD LUCK!!!! Please let us know how it goes.

Nov. 5: Sent AOS Package

Nov 17: AOS received by USCIS

April 1: INTERVIEW DAY. Approved!!!!!!

Early June: Moved to New York City. The only relevant city in the world ;)

Congratulations on the approval. So how did it go? What was asked? Kindly update. I got my approval as well. Btw, has your status updated on 'case status' option?
