I have read some discussions here regarding the tourist visa (B-2) during the K1 process but I am not really sure if USICS treats B1 and B2 a little differently?

My fiancee's company(an international company) is sponsoring a business visa (B1) for her. (2 weeks of business training in their California office ) Now I am a little confused on what's the best time for me submit my I129f here in US?

1. Before she gets her B1 visa in China? (her B1 visa interview is scheduled 1 month away from now)

2. After she gets the B1 visa but before she enters US? (which is around end of May, 2011)

3. After she gets into US with her B1 visa?

I want to get the K1 process rolling early so we can be together in the US sooner; but don't want to ruin her B1 visa application if possible. Her work experience & recommendations from her current manager will help her landing a job here in the future. Also, I will be able to visit while she is in US on her business visa; that can be added as another strong evidence for our relationship during the K1 interview.

The purpose of the trip will be very business related, I really have no idea if the officers at the US consulate in China & POE will really care if she has a boyfriend in US or not?

In her I-160 application form for B1 visa, to "Immediate relatives" question, I guess she chose "No" because you have not filed petition for her when she filled out the form. If so, to match her form, the safest option is option 2 in case your petition impacts her interview. But I think such a probability is very low. In fact, all options are equal to me. Many people who have fiancée in USA receive B visa even for a couple times during their journey.

The officers at the US consulate in China & POE will not care if she has a boyfriend in US or not. But if you file the petition, you become your immediate relative, "fiancée", and then they may care. But her trip is solely for business so just go ahead with your petition. Everything will straight out.
