London interview, a few questions

Hi all, just have few questions regarding our interview in London, I have received documentation to state what has been sent from the NVC to the embassy and looked at the state gov website for what is needed, they say I do not need to take any of the documents as they already have them. Is this true? I have a copy of everything submitted which I can take, but obviously with them having the orginals I will not have to produce them again, will I ?

Yep, the NVC will have the originals of all civil docs required. i took copies just in case. but they werent needed.

Thanks good to know, just another quick question, I see on your timeline you were denied at interview for overstay, how come they didnt pick that up at USCIS or NVC why wait until the interview, only reason asking as I might have overstayed, depends how long ago (10 years ago)

the uscis approves that you are eligible to apply for a petition for a visa, the nvc generates the visa, and the consulate make the decision to approve or deny you. based of immigration 'law/rules'. its just the way the procedure works. strange i know, but its just the way it is. is you overstayed by a year or more, more than ten years ago - you will be fine, as its a 3 yr bar for 6mths to 1 yr and ten yr bar for 1 year +.
