Question about name change?

Hello guys,

I want to ask you guys a question. I completed forms needed for petitioning my brother. I did change my name when I applied for citizenship. My citizenship certificate shows my new name. So, when I file I-130 for my brother, do I have to include court order paper for changing name when I got my certificate on oath ceremony day or I just need to send copy of my citizenship certificate with new name on it? Please help me guys because I think I may lose the court order paper. Thanks in advance.

You need to legally show a link between you old name (what's on your birth certificate) with your new name (what's on your certifcate of citizenship).

The NVC is not going to take your word for it. You will need a certified copy of that court order. You can get a certified copy from the court where you requested the name change.

Thank you. I did send my papers without court order. On my citizenship certificate shows my new name and my alien number. Will USCIS send me the RFE for the court order? And if I get the certified copy of the court order soon, should I send it right away or I have to wait for RFE to send it? Please Help me. Thank in advance!
