Bethanie, I hear you, and I'm trying to stay calm and be reasonable. This would actually be good news if it weren't for the fact that his psychiatrist is such a poor excuse for a medical professional and can't be relied upon for anything. He's also been hostile with my fiance in the past, so we're a bit nervous about what he's going to write. We just don't trust him.

As I mentioned, I'm going to write a letter to the psychiatrist for my fiance to take in along with the letter from Knightsbridge. He's going to try to get this taken care of on Monday. In the letter, I think I'm going to explain to the psychiatrist that I realize he can't guarantee that my fiance will never need mental health treatment again, and that what they are looking for is a medical opinion that he will not need anything beyond routine mental health maintenance care, such as institutionalization or long-term hospital/home care. What do people think?

Why do you ahve to go and see that psychiatrist.

I had to have a psych evaluation done had to pay £240 for the privilage and had to go through BUPA because I couldn't go and see the psychiatrist I went to before.

The doctors at knightsbridge said this was fine and all my stuff has been sent off so request to see another doctor or if he does write somethign nasty and hostile then request a second opinion. Your perfectly within your legal rights and limits to do that.

I got EXACTLY the same letter from Dr Sayed too. So I have to find a psychiatrist in Aberdeen now and get them to fax a report to Knightsbridge. I spoke to my GP about it and he has referred me to one but I won't hear from them for about 2 weeks, and my embassy interview is in 6 days! So I'm calling private ones today.

I called a private psychiatrist yesterday, who is at Harley Street, London. I figure I could get an appointment for the same day I go down for my interview. He wanted to charge me £500 for it! ....no thanks.

Hopefully the ones I call can just get it done fast without charging me to death.

I also have to get a mumps shot and get an immunisation record that I had somewhere other than my GP which I didn't know existed before yesterday. Apparently in Aberdeen when you get immunisation shots at your high school, they record it at the practitioner services and not your GP. :hassle:

I might just go ahead and get the adult MMR to save time.

There's no way I'll get the visa straight after my interview, because my medical is going to take ages to complete, all because of "self harm" 13 damn years ago.
