hello

i am 'hopefully' sending off for my police certificate this week, (we are at the two month mark at USCIS)

i was wondering if this -----> police cert is the only one i need as when we did the K1 visa (in 2007) i had to apply for two, one local (cumbria) and one national (UK)

2004 - we met online.

7th May 2007 - filed I-129 paperwork

9th June 2007 - received I-797 notice of action

13th November 2007 - I-129 approved

18th December 2007 Visa and medical interview

12th January 2008- Shipping company arrived

14th January 2008 - landed at Newark Airport.

9th March 2008 - got married(received SSI number)

April 2008 - My things arrived in USA from the UK

9th March 2009 - our 1st Anniversary

14th June 2009 - returned to the UK

9th March 2010 - our 2nd Anniversary - spent apart - so lonely :(

1st September 2010 - filed I-130 (applying for IR1)

11th Sept - Received I-797c address part C error

13th Sept - Resubmitted I-130

24th Sept 2010 received second I-797 NOA status - "initial review"

4th January 2011 - I-130 Approved - moving to NVC!

12th January 2011 - I-130 forwarded to NVC.

31st January 2011 - Notification of LDN number received in the post.

Yes, thats the one, the ACPO cert with the photo is the only one the consulate accept now. Its good for 1 year.

No problem - just dont bother with the 'premium' service like I did! Its double the price - and isnt as quick as I had expected, its still closer to two weeks!

If i can give any advice, I would say for an extra fiver you can order an extra copy of your ACPO as long as you send the payment and request in with the full request.

I DIDNT, but wish I had, if you ever need the spare - with the unreliable mail here, its well worth it Id say. If your original gets lost by our wonderful Royal Mail - you still have an extra original. Otherwise they charge you another £35 if you need another....and £70 if you want it 'quicker'! :thumbs:

I thought there was no need for one, and I didnt get one, but this week has been touch and go whether id need a spare one, its the safest fiver you'll spend! :yes:

I did premium service, sent it off on a Thursday and received it back on the Tuesday. They issued the certificate on the Sunday. So I guess it's worth it if you're desperate.
