restrictions on flying to the Phils.

Greetings everyone!

Just for clarification---My husband purchased a round-trip airline tickets to the Phils. and used my married name although my passport still bears my maiden name.It will expire in 2012 yet. I was told by some friends that its fine for as long as I have my GC and Marriage Certificate for perusal at the Immigration and/or check in counter, and maybe i can also include my State ID(since Ive no DL yet). I hope it wont be a hassle.

Another question is--legally, for how long can someone like me, holding a 2-yr GC, travel to the Phils??

Is there a restriction as to how long can I stay there so I will not be denied entry coming back to the US? this is, by the way, my first visit to the Phils since I came to the States.

I'll appreciate whatever information and input u can share with this regard.

As long as u have legal document to present when asked ,,then you are fine. u can stay as long as you won't be out of the US for more than a year. I was in the Philippines for almost 6 months 2 yrs. ago with just my 2 yr. gc and never had a problem coming back to US.

Staying ove 6 months will affect your time required for obtaining USC. Good idea to have a reentry permit if you do so.
