We're moving here in St. Louis, MO. Compare in Joliet, IL, maraming pinoy dito sa St. Louis. I already met some Filipinos here. Madaming asian dito kaya so its kinda hard to recognize. Buti na lang yong na-meet namin ng asawa ko nagsalita ng tagalog kaya ayun nilapitan ng asawa ko sila. They invited us to b-day party, then marami pa kami na-meet na mga Filipino dito. We don't really hang out with them coz we're pretty busy but we have good communication with them. Though, my two cents para sa mga Filipino na pa-sosyal or mataas ang ere.... (not trying to offend anyone) Those some Filipinos na nakakaluwag nung nasa Pinas pa tsaka fully educated (finished college and got a good job), most likely madaling pakisamahan tsaka hindi flamboyant compare sa mga Filipino na dito lang sa US nakaranas ng luxury compare sa nakasanayan sa Pinas. So probably, coz they think that they level up from their lives before sa Pinas kaya pa-sosyal at umaarangkada sa kayabangan kaya poor USC, butas lagi bulsa mapagbigyan lang yong kasosyalan at kayabangan nung asawa.

Ayaw kong mag-generalized but I kinda agree on this. I've met some professional Filipinos here (RNs and Doctors) and they are very helpful and will give you tons of advices on how to properly adjust here pero pag nasa grocery ako or spa, naririnig ko lang yung ibang Pinay na nagta-Tagalog or Bisaya then I'll smile at them then they'll look at me from head to foot. Maybe they lacked GMRC in their schools.

not all filipino maganda talaga ugali. ang ilan d2 nakarating lang ng US feeling mayaman na at la ng pakialam sa mundo, ang alam na lng nila eh ang makipagpayabangan. hay naku sana lang matauhan sila dahil kundi pa natin alam karamihan sa kanila galing din naman sa hirap sana lang wag mapunta sa ulo nila na porket andito na sila ang mga mafeeling na. I met some filupina before and i asked them if asian or filipino sila? "sagot ba namn sakin ay hindi american citizen ako " hay naku kilabutan naman sana sila. kalahi mo tapos kinahihiya nila na pinoy sila. sana lng sa mga bago pa lang na pupunta d2 you will learn a lesson na hindi porket and2 ka na kailangan mo na ichange lahat. ok lang naman to dress up like some other american here dahil its just normal here. ok lang to buy expensive things pero wag naman sana dahil sa yabang. But so far i have to say i found alot of nice filipino rin d2. kahit gano na sila katagal d2 o kabago d2 nakaapak pa rin paa nila sa lupa. im not saying lahat ng pinoy/pinay di maganda ugali marami din d2 na ok sila basta piliin mo lang kung sino mga taog kinakaibigan mo. dahil d2 sa US sa bandang huli sarili mo lang pwede mo mapagkatiwalaan.

at least tagalog ang sagot sa yo...i met some filipinas when we were in canada, they live in the US but they're vacationing in canada also. we were in the locker room of a hotel, i was inside one of the cubicles so hindi nila alam na may tao sa loob. i knew they were pinay kasi i heard them talking in tagalog...later, i saw them talking to my husband in the pool and my husband introduced me to them....excitedly i asked them "kumusta po? san po kayo sa pilipinas?" and to my surprise, the reply was "we don't speak tagalog anymore, we've been here a long time" :bonk: haaay ano kayang pinakain sa kanila ng amerika para sabihing di na sila marunong mag tagalog!

Wala naman akong problema sa mga kapwa ko pinay/pinoy dito...Mostly nga friendly and ung iba siguro nahihiya lang or ung iba nmn tlagang hindi lang friendly...I really have no problem when they are showing there bling  if they can afford it go go go.... just be happy for them..Meron ding mga filipino communities dito pero di pa ko nakakapunta sa mga gathering nila..

actually, satin ko nafeel ung discrimination..it sad...it is very very sad...alam mo ung kasabihan na "iba ang tinitignan sa tinititigan"..Nakakalungkot lang(not most of the time)

theres a moment na when im with husband at naglalakad kami sa kalye or sa palengke...ang hirap iexplain pero i feel the judgement the way they stare at me and its not good...

also, the treatment..example nung kumain kmi ng family ko sa resto (MAX resto)ok namn..serve sila then pag me kailangan ka u need to wait or call them at the counter(minsan mga nakasimangot pa)..but nung kmi na with my husband,as in todo serve as in they are really standing close to the table..you dont need to call them they will ask you if you need something...

Oh well... :(

yap mas mafeel mo talaga ang discrimination sa mismong kapwa pa nating pinoy. so sad nga lang talaga.
