Hello guys, My fiancee and I submitted everything to the embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan about three weeks ago and we are still waiting to here something back regarding an interview. We call them and they say it takes 2-4 weeks. I emailed them and asked them what was giong on and they told me that we have still not recieved your documents but please allow us 2-4 weeks to update our computers. When my fiancee called them they told her that your paperwork has been recieved we are just waiting to process it. What should I do? How long does it typically take to get an interview in Pakistan? Also, how far out do they schedule the interview from the time its processed? Im just really trying to get all this stuff done asap so I can get to Pakistan in December and bring her to America. Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated!! Thank you

Adam

Adam,

I am over looking a K-1 visa for my sister and I was doing alot of research to find out what to expect next. Here is what i have found, which may be helpful to you:

* Average days between Sending packet 3 and recieving the interview date is about 15 days in Pakistan. If you don't recieve it by then, your file is sitting on the wrong desk and the guy is simply lazy.

* Average days between recieving the packet 4 and the interview date itself is 25 days in Pakistan. It usually is pretty consistant.

the worst timeline i have seen so far is a guy recieving an interview date after 35 days of sending a packet 3.

After looking at your timeline, I think you have plenty of time if you plan on going to Pakistan in DEC. Even if they take 35 day to send you packet 4, you should still get your Visa before the end of December.

Here is another thing you should be aware of; sometimes at the interview they approve your Visa but send your case to a "security check" that can take upto 35 days. This usually happens to guys and not girls.

I hope this helps you.

Good luck

Shan.

Shan, thanks so much for the research. yeah we got the interview date. Its set for next monday morning, Oct. 18th. Insha'allah everything goes well. Yeah I am aware of the additional processing and I have heard it takes 2-3 months. This is the only thing I am worried about. My fiancee is from peshawar so I am just worried they may want to do an additional check. Yes, I have also heard they typically do this with women, not men, which is good news but I am prepared for anything. Her medical examination is now complete, and interview is the last step. I hope everything is going well with your visa journey. Wish you the best of luck. Email me if you have any other questions for me. You can get a hold of me a lot quicker by doing so
