I-864 sponsor ID required?

My husband and I just sent in our AOS file today. He is my sole sponsor, and we're good in terms of finances and poverty line requirements.

we sent in the following:

- completed I-864

- Tax returns for last three years (1099,W2 etc)

- letter from employer

However, I do have a question....

no where did we read that we needed to provide proof of his identification (not on vj or application instructions), so we didn't send any. We assumed his SSN would suffice. He's the American citizen and we're applying for my AOS after a K1....

should we have sent in copies of HIS birth certificate, passport, any other such identifications ?

only the JOINT sponsor(if you have one) requires a proof of ID, normal sponsors do not.

No. If the petitioner is the only sponsor you don't need to prove it. check out the AOS instructions in www.travel.state.gov

Here's part of it:

19. Citizenship/Residency

Proof of U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident status is required for joint and substitute sponsors and for relatives of employment-based immigrants who file this form. Petitioning relatives who have already filed proof of their citizenship or immigration status with Forms I-130, Form I-129F, I-600 and I-600A do not need to submit proof of their status with this form.
