Jacksonville AOS interview experience

It's taken me far too long to write this up- but anyway. I've posted this in the review section too but here it is again for anyone who wants to know!

I was given an appointment in Jacksonville even though my local office is Orlando- maybe they're too busy at the moment or something. Who knows. I was one of the first in the office- our appointment was for 8am (on August 1st).

We must have waited about three-quarters of an hour or so (though we arrived the full 45 minutes early). We were taken off to an interview room where a nice man (whose name I've forgotten) treated the whole thing as if it was just a formality- he ran through some standard questions (checking where we lived, dates of birth etc) and asked if I was a terrorist or communist and that was about it. He took my work permit card off me, stamped my passport and told me I'd get the green card in the mail. Though I don't think he called it that. He also said how we have to file the I-751 in two years' time to remove the conditions of the permanent resident card I'll be getting (since we were only recently married you don't get the ten year one immediately). He told us when and how I could apply for citizenship and that was it. Didn't ask to see any photos or anything related to the Affadavit of Support. The whole thing took about ten or fifteen minutes.

Very efficient- compared to how long we actually waited for the appointment to come through- we sent in our I-485 back in December 05. Haven't actually got the card as yet... but I did get a confirmation letter saying it can take up to three weeks.

Congratulations and thanks for sharing! I think I've read that the Orlando office is backed up big time, so it's probably a good thing you got sent over to Jacksonville, even it is a bit of a drive.
