anybody have idea or who undergone changing of last name, I would like to know how long is the process of changing of last name.

I have 6 months before my 2 yrs green card expire, I wonder now if I still have chance to change my name before the renewal of green card.

My story is...a day after I sent my AOS I sent a letter that I want to use my married name since I used my maiden name,I recieve a response from them and the letter was under my married name but when I recieved my GC it was on my maiden name. Then I sent them a letter regarding the maiden name on my GC, I got a response that I can send the greencard and they will change the name, means I don't have to pay the fee. Because of my Dad's critical situation in the Philippines..I hold on to my GC so I can go and visit my Dad anytime, until it took months i din't change my name.

my Dad passed away lastweek.I decided now to change my last name.I wonder how long is the process,if I still have chance to change it before the renewal of GC.because it might be difficult and expensive if I already have my 10 yrs GC.

thank u
