  1. 1. Will my mom getting Public Assistance affect my husband's case? I live with her and help her a bit

    • Probably not, because you are not the one applying for assistance, your mom is

My mother wants to request financial assistance (means tested public benefits). I am in her household so I will be named as another household member giving her some financial assistance. I WILL NOT be the one directly applying for this assistance. My mother is not listed as my dependant on taxes or my affidavit of support form.

Do you think that being listed as living with my mother and giving her some assistance will affect my affidavit of support for my husband if she gets means tested public assistance?

(I am using a joint sponsor in our case who is not my mother, this joint sponsor makes 20k above limit for her household including my husband so more than enough)
