If you use fedex they will think its important and charge you, the cost at customs is often more than the cost of the item.

Hubby used Fedex that's why they charged me too much before. And the phone took 2 weeks long in the customs area.

I have no complain when it comes to sending stuffs domestic here in the US, BUT!, when your packages landed Philippines, nightmare begins. This has happen to me 2 years ago when my then fiance' ,now husband sent me this Christmas gifts that came in a package; he sent it 25 days before Christmas but customs confirmed that my stuffs is in their holding department after 32 days. (including my endless phone calls asking about this confirmation number) Then, when I picked the package up, I was charged way too much for it since it has an electronic device (a USB!!!) Now, If I didn't play with their game, I would have paid the amount they are asking from me, But when I told them I am just a student, and my parents don't even know I have an american boyfriend, the collecting person just said, "ok, just slip whatever amount you have in that log book". What a shame!

i guess everyone has their nightmare stories....and it's not surprising. i sent a something my wife many years ago documents via priority mail USPS. there were some paper sized poster of various cartoon/disney characters. they were cute and i figured the wife would like them since at that time, our oldest son was only a few months old. she kept telling me how he would have baby talk conversations with the big happy face stickers on our bedroom walls. so i sent some more for him to talk to. but i guess somebody from the post office saw the envelope and decided to snoop around and opened it, liked the posters, kept them, and sealed the envelope back up. so all my wife got was my greeting cards i sent to her. my wife thought i was joking around with her because she said she did not see anything wrong visually...meaning that there's no sign that the envelope was even opened. since then, i stopped sending stuff if it's going through philpost. lucky for me...whenever i need or want to send something to her, one of my friends would be going home for a vacation.
