embassy said visa approved and kept passport but waiting since 45 days

my case was filed for CR1/IR1 ON SEPTEMBER 2007. IT TOOK 1 YEAR TO GET NVC CLEARANCE. FIRST INTERVIEW AT new delhi EMBASSY ON SEPTEMBER 2008. THE CASE WAS PUT ON HOLD 221G. then second interview call with fresh medical and PCC on may 2010. embassy said visa approved AND WILL BE DISPATCHED IN ONE WEEK. BUT no mail from VFS courier. waiting for passport since 6 weeks. no reply from embassy. worried.

ANYONE with some information on this situation. why this long wait to return the passport, even after 3yrs of wait and visa approved?

Are you serious????? Umm.. may I ask why the NVC held up your case for 1 year? And what was the reason for the 221g? If the Embassy kept your passport this is a good thing... it might take 6 months or more to recieve your visa from the last interview but it is always a good sign that they approved you at the interview and kept the passport.

We also had our interview at the New Delhi embassy. We to were approved and the passport was kept, the Lady that interviewed us told us that we would recieve the visa in 1 week... we have been waiting 24 days to date... It is hard to keep the faith... trying to stay positive

We call the Embassy once a week on Friday to keep us updated with the latest information.. but right now they always just say call back next week

its very frustating ot wait for a single day when a person hears "you are approved" after 3 years and then again they are saying we cannot provide you timeline, call next week. i have to start my career over there. these procedures should be a little bit more transparent and also no wait should be more than a year. god help us all who are away from their partner for a while.

I wasnt telling you to stay positive I was pep talking myself telling you that I was telling myself to "stay positive" honestly... as long as you have been dealing with this I think that I would be going crazy.. I have a plan.. if we dont get the visa in 3 months from the interview I am moving to India to wait it out.. so this is keeping me a little sain right now.. Honestly there is nothing that anyone can say to console someone that is seperated NOT BY CHOICE from there spouse.. I honestly pray that you will hear some good news soon. I was curious what was your 221g for? and why did you have to have a second interview?

Well my 221g was for administrative processing and they don't explain much as for why they are doing it. And actually my second interview was due to my expired DS230 form . Part 2 of this form is oath which we can only take in front of an officer at embassy. Hope we hear good news soon. The officer at embassy told it takes 2to 3 months for this procedure just his experience. So lets see what happens. I will suggest u too to wait for 3months before any action. Good luck.

At the interview they told us Congratulations ur visa is approved you will recieve it in 1 week.... it wasnt until 1 week had passed with no visa that i called the embassy and they told me that we were on AP... really dont know why or what red flags we had...

Hurrayyyyyyyyyyyy at last i got my visa and am now finally with my wife. I got my visa on 1st of july after waiting 2 months, I wish everyone the very best and hope that everyone thats away from their mate would join them soon. Good luck to everybody, my POE experience was very good and it was Houston Tx IAH. The border security officers were really nice and took two hrs to get out of the Airport.

my husband and i had interview new delhi embassy officer told us congratulation ur visa is approved 4 weeks passsed no visa in hand

Then i email to them they reply my email case is pending under 221g is that normal please someone help me.............
