Hi everyone !

I recently had my interview and I am waiting for my visa. I also started looking at the forms that we will need to complete after my arrival the US for AOS. I just want to udnerstand if I need to bring any other documents from my country. I am reading I-485 instructions and a few questions came to my mind:

The form states that application needs to be filed with a list of evidence as as:

- Criminal history: Please not that for my K 1 interview I obtained police records from my home country, had them translated into English and notarized. US Embassy collected the form and kept it. Does this mean I do not need to submit it again?

- Birth certificate: I have the same question regarding my birth certificate. However, I am inclined to believe that I will need to take on more English notarized copy with me to US. Please confirm

Thank you !

1.) No. You will have your fingerprints taken (at what's called a biometrics appt) and your criminal background will be checked that way for AOS.

2.) Never send USCIS an original birth certificate. A photocopy of your original will suffice.
