There are studies that results in the hysterical conclusions that you make?

Good luck.

No, I have not seen any study. What I ave seen is article after article of such cases. With the mother demanding the government pay here in some way.

Though this does seem to be the case in the UK too.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

That doesn't happen in Australia, does it?

No, it's not a chronic problem as it is here. The country is not exactly renowned for ghettos.

Ghettos have squat to do with this. It's the mindset of some people here that think they are better than the hard working folk, and all they have to do is put out their hand so Uncle Sam can give 'em some money. This doesn't happen in Mexico either, it's work or starve... Usually the people that are about to starve look for other ways to get resources, yes, illegal immigration is unfortunately one of them.

The power of the anecdote as presented by the melodramatic media. Brilliant

Well that attitude is rife in ghettos here. Never seizes to amaze me of the number of kids receiving free lunch that have an ipod or wear the latest clothes - my wife's friends are teachers.

I guess the difference in Mexico is that people have enough common sense to not have 10 kids, if they are starving. Whereas, over here, many seem to think that the government owes them something, particularly because of history. This problem is worsened by people with left wing views here, who see them as the victim and just want to give them more money and more slack; which evidently only worsens the problem.

After all, there is a reason why Oprah spends here money in countries like South Africa, where people will actually appreciate it.

Forget the media, five minutes in a ghetto is all I need. Heck five minutes in crapmart and there is more than enough examples to sample.

Uh-huh.

Since empirical information is not good enough for you, where does your data or information come from then? Although, it does seem to be good enough for you rants against the media. AKA double standards.

Since when did your biased and stereotype derived rants become "empirical information", AKA BS?

About the same time your no it's not does. Evidently, personal experiences of others are no match for your supreme - yet warped - notions of life.

I don't need the media to tell me anything. I pop into the local walmart and can see perfectly well who has x kids, who is paying for things using foodstamps and so forth. I then glance at what is in their cart and it's certainly not products to get them back on their feet, products to improve their shitty areas or anything to get them a job.

Your opinions clearly illustrate that you have a limited exposure of the US, therefore, you assume it's the same deal all over. You assume surely things other foreigners see are isolated or just racist.

I don't trust your experience. Nor it seems do a lot of people here.

You keep mentioning having "limited exposure to the US". One might think that this is very true of you - making absolute statements of fact with nothing to support them.

Come on Booyah!, really? Have you forgotten your expertise in Mexican immigration laws, the grim picture you have of the country, and so on? Really dude, don't go there.

It's not there for you to do anything, hence it being called my expericne . You just don't seem to grasp that people out there have opinions that differ to yours.

When did I say I was an expert on Mexican law? I simply stated naturalized citizens in Mexico do not receive the same status as those born there. Then again, realistically how many people migrate to Mexico?
