We just keep filling the holes and they soon give up after having to dig them all again. The cruelty free way that works for us!

It does work temporarily, we put stones in them. They eventually come back again because we live right next to the woods. I poured some anti groundhog juice in too which was mad of garlic, chiles, soap and water. I may try some of that smoke stuff people recommended. I also know of sonic devices available but I'm not sure of their effectiveness.

We did have a family of foxes with 3 babies living in the woods and that kept the varmints in check but the foxes vanished about a month ago. I miss those guys and that's the solution I prefer. As soon as they left, the groundhog came back. It's an eating machine, it can wipe out a whole tomato patch in an hour. They like living under the poolhouse because I think to them it's like a high class condo, lots of space, access to water and protection from other predators.
