I have F-1 visa and currently in the US. My husband found that we can file i-130 and i-485 at the same time, so we did it but unfortunately we file them to two different office (both are in Chicago but one is AOS and one is FBAS).

2 weeks later we got 3 NOAs back.

- 1 is a receipt notice from California office

- 2 rejection notice came in the same packages. 1 is for i-130 and 1 for i-485 (I sent a photocopy of our I-130 with I-485). The rejection reasons is that the check amount is incorrect or has not been provided)

My suspicious is that,

- our I-130 package was received and the check is processed (by california office - even we didn't send the package there)

- our 1-485 package were received by the other office, Because there was a photocopy of i-130 inside, the officer thought the package was to apply both i-130 and i-485, rather than i-485 solely

I called the NCSC but they were confused as well. They suggested us just applied again.

So what should we do now? Do we have to reapplied for both i-130 and i-485, or should we just apply for i-485 with a photocopy of I-130 NOA.

In the meantime, I have to leave the US in July according my F1 visa. Someone told me that once I applied i-130 and i-485, I am eligible to stay in the US even after my visa expire. Is that correct?

Thanks in advance for the advice. I am pretty lost right now.
