Hello all!

I am sponsoring my French Canadian wife in the US since we were married 3 weeks ago, while we apply for and await our AOS and EAD. I was living in FL for the majority of this year, but since getting work in New York City, I have moved and my new address is in Manhattan. Is it absolutely necessary to alert someone to my new addess even though I have lived in FL for the majority of the year and given the fact that our K-1 process was all done from there?

The way I see it, the only thing making me a NY resident is this new job, which began in the latter part of the year (and obviously will deserve mention on the new affidavit). Do I need to change my address of residence on the forms, and if so, who do I notify/how long will it take before we can send off our AOS application safely under this new address?

Thanks in advance.

Chris.

ok, let me see if I got this right.

You and your wife who got to the US with a K1 visa, have moved from Florida to New York. Right?

Your wife's AOS and EAD are NOT complete. Right?

Where did you apply for the AOS and EAD? New York or Florida?

You do most definitely have to BOTH notify USCIS that you have moved and legally are required to do that within days of moving. For your wife she needs an AR-11 form within 10 days of moving, and for yourself you need an I-865 within 30 days, or potentially face monetary fines.

You will also need to ensure that (if you applied for AOS in Florida) your stuff gets transferred to New York so that you don't miss the AOS interview and they don't start deportation proceedings.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

Hi, thanks for the information.. Exactly right ( though we haven't yet filed the aos or ead). Let's say I am past the "days" limit of needing to report our new residency, how will they ever know when we really moved... 2. Is there any order in which we need to file these extra forms, or can we file them as we file our aos and ead ?

Thankjs very much.
