It's unfortunate that we don't have any British Airways employees here to tell you how offended they were with your opinion of them...and do so ad nauseam.

I didn't say 'all', i didn't say that 'airline workers' are all too dumb for me to talk to, but what I said was that SOME were garbage....which is true based on my extensive experience with the airline. Every time I've flown BA, I've been wickedly unhappy w the service. Yes, some of their workers....most of the ones I have come into contact with....are sh!t at their jobs....and make it a horrible experience to fly with.

But you keep grinding that ax It's funny.

She's bantering, dude. I doubt she means it literally. In every day conversation people seldom use caveats or footnotes to clarify every word. Chillax.

Well we can thank unions for bitter old Air stewards in the US, UK and Aus. For the same reason I don't want to see s 45 year old bar tender, the main stewards should be reserved for those between 25 to 35. After that, they can be promoted to head steward or can be promoted to do work on the ground, where their maturity and experience will be valued. Much like I don't want some young bimbo at my gate or counter, I don't want some bitter 35 to 55 year old serving me.

Proof of this working can be seen on Emirates, Singapore etc.

I've never had a bad experience with BA, and I bet my use of the airline is more 'extensive' than Lisas.

As regards air crew, I'll go experience over looks any day of the week, particularly if there is an emergency.

As far as the OP topic - if that's the best use of the garbage, good for BA. More innovative thinking is required to solve the energy crises. However, I have a suspicion the amount of garbage available is due to a lack of proper recycling in London.

Hence having one head senior steward. The rest of the staff should be young and vibrant, rather than the status-quo (thanks unions) of old tired and bitter. Their experience is more useful elsewhere.

It's gotten to the point that I will only fly Virgin now. Well, not like the need is as great as it was before, but I will never step foot on another BA plane again.

I don't have a need for my drink and food dispenser to look pretty, I do have a need for the flight crew to be able to make excellent decisions that impact my safety in stressful situations. Experience over looks every time.

Virgin? Yes, the flight crew are good with the smiles and the half time ice cream, but heck, they have the smallest amount of leg room of any commercial flights available. No thanks.
