Hello,

looking at the back of my cashed checks, I understand that the MSC********** number is the case/receipt number, and below the date (020810), and then there is one more number which is the same on both checks (the MSC numbers are off by one). Is that my A-number (I never had one)? Or something else?

i am not sure what the number is, but if you are concerned about ur A number, and you dont have one yet, keep an eye out for your NOAs and your uSCIS paperwork that comes in the mail, as the paper comes, some of it will eventually have ur A number on it that is assigned to you, it should be at the top right hand side. If you dont really care about your A number right now, and were just curious about the number on your check... well i am not sure haha.

The number on the back of your check is your receipt number. Do you have your NOA letter? If so, it needs to match it. The other number could be a receipt number for a different application you filed. You are in AOS, correct?

Most probably the receipt numbers are for I-485 and if you applied for EAD then it could be for that.

In any case, that is NOT your A#. Your A# will be assigned once you are approved for AOS.
