hello my akiko is from the philippines. i miss her so bad. we have applied for the fiance visa and its been in process since NOV 4th. right now i cant make another trip over to see her because of work. so i have a few questions.

1. can she come visit me while the k1 visa is in process?

2. if so how hard is it for her to get a visitors visa from the philippines?

3. if we try to get the tourist vias and if she is denied the tourist visa will it effect the outcome of the K-1 visa?

4. i want to see her so bad. but is it better just to wait for her K-1 or is it ok to aleast try for a tourist visa?

thanks. i love you guys this is a great site and this community has really helped us so far. thanks all u guys.

if you already applied for the k1 then i would just wait out the remainder of time because if everything goes well she will be here in a few months anyway. It is very doubtful she will be able to get a tourist visa to come here unless she makes either a lot of money or she has ties to a business or something that would keep her interest there. The average time for the approval is currently 5 months, and you are 2 1/2 there already, so just be patient.

I know its hard, I am in the same boat as you, and I am trying my best as well. if there is a delay that is when I would visit her again, thats what i did..and you can go from there. I wish you luck, and just hang in there

hey kids. good luck on your k1 application. i understand how u all must feel, but i agree with raven, just be patient.. the k1 visa doesnt really take that long. it took us only 5mos! it will be a breeze .. just hang in there and dont waste time, resources and money to apply for a tourist visa, trust me-- u will need all those when you already get your approval. good luck ;)
