My wife applied for an I-485 with a priority date of Nov. 7, 2007, based on an approved I-140 (Work-sponsored 3rd category professional).

The AOS application is currently in Nebraska and we have been waiting for the priority date to become current.

It is currently on Oct. 26, 2007, so I am guessing in about two weeks it should be current with our priority date on Nov. 7th. My wife, my son (dependant), and I have already taken our fingerprints and biometrics at our local uscis office.

Although I am not sure if we have been assigned a visa yet? How do I find out? Do I call the department of state? Or is the visa already available based on the information I provided above. (At the time that we filed the AOS in Nov of 2007 the visa bulletin specified "C").

I would really like to know if I have to wait some more (months/years) after my priority date becomes current in two weeks. Thank you.
