Hello!

Im in an amazing mood right now.

Life sucks, my husband is deployed, we got an RFE because our doctor made a mistake in our medical (which still makes me sooo mad!) so the whole thing took even longer, i cant leave the house because i dont have a drivers license (cause i have no EAD), we have a pretty bad money situation and so on ... but today!!!

I just checked my status again of the EAD

"On January 5, 2010, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you"

So how long did it really take? 30 days???? seriously? im already going insane!

Please someone tell me how long it should take. how long from printing to mailbox??? im sooo excited and nervous and happy and really bad at waiting ;)

and can I already apply for jobs??? i mean the thing is issued just not here yet

Hey Tschaeib, I just got the same news as you also today! I'm bouncing around the house!

From people's timelines it seems about a week - 2/3 weeks is typical to get the card in hand. I'm hoping the 30 days means 30 days before we can call them if we don't receive it type thing...

We can't start work till we have it, but i'm going to start applying for jobs tomorrow... I'm sure a lot of companies are unlikely to respond right away and it takes time from application to interview to job offer. If I get an interview i'll print out my status and be honest at the interview and tell them the truth - my card is ordered and I will have it within 30 days.

Congrats & Good Luck

It typically takes 14 days for the EAD card to get in once you have received the "Card Production notice".

Good to know  Thank you!
