Hi there, well my wife's biometrics appointment is tomorrow afternoon. Is there anything that we should be taking with us besides the appointment letter & her passport? Should we bring a copy of anything else? Such as marriage certificate confirming her name(since her passport says maiden name but the appointment letter says married name)?

Anyways, just making sure I'm all set for it. don't want any surprised. Also just wondering. My wife's getting quite anxious to start working...after the biometrics is it likely that she will be getting her EAD quickly? Hope its not to much longer! Well, thank ya guys! God bless

The Biometrics letter said to just bring the letter and proper ID. When we went to our appointment the clerk asked for her marriage certificate! I STRONGLY recommend you take NOA1, marriage cert, SSN card if you have etc. Dont leave anything to chance.

Remember you are dealing with the Federal Government (groan)

My wife (K1) and her 11-year old son (K2) had their Biometric done today. The office, which was hard to find in a strip mall on a busy street in St. Paul, MN said, "Application Center" on the door. We we're asked by the front desk security guy if we had any cell phones, checked their I.D., and appointment letter, and he told me to get rid of my water bottle. We were instructed to fill out a couple questions on a paper and attached their I.D. and took it to the receptionist. She checked out the form and stamped the appointment letter and signed it. Wife and son went into another room to wait for the quick finger prints and photo. I was told I couldn't go in there. They did not ask for any documentation besides the I.D. and appointment letter. No marriage certificate, etc., etc. We were in and out in 20 minutes. The office was on the seedy side and the Government workers seemed a bit jaded. The workers reminded me of customs people. Maybe the job has good benefits but it's low paying? I watched a steady stream of emigrants come in the door, confused, asking questions in their broken English. I hope we get the EAD in two weeks like most seem to get.

Happy Holidays from Minnesota!
