She needs it to be correct.

Her Visa will be used the Social Security office in USA

And it may be an issue boarding a plane

The only name that is important is hers. There have been several members here that had incorrect information in the annotation information regarding the sponsor. It will not cause a problem with the airlines and it will not cause a problem with SSA. SSA does not verify your spouses name to issue a SSN.

To get an SSN aren't you supppose to show your marriage certificate and visa/passport to them?? that' s what we did.. and I got my SSN a week after.

but it is my name that is messed up not hers. everything is correct but my sur name is wrong. We are getting k1 visa so we aren't married yet. so i don't think that should matter.

I hope they wont' issuie a new visa as that would take time again. I told her when she goes on wed to ask them if they can pick it up if she has to get a new one.

Yes .. she will show her passport/visa which both have her name correct and the I-94. None of that is based on her sponsor's name in the annotation. There is no need to have the visa corrected.

a minor error (such as doubled letters, i instead of e, single letter instead of double) on your name appearing on her visa is won't be a big issue either when she comes to the US or when she applies for SSN so don't worry

In my opinion, i think she needs to have it corrected. At the POE, some immigration staff will check the documents (in the brown envelope) if it coincides with her visa. I think it's better to be safe than taking chances.
