Mumbai VFS experience

Hi everyone,

So, my fiance went to submit everything to the VFS office and had everything. They did not take the affidavit of support and our proof of relationship. This is really strange for them not to take the affidavit of support as well . They also told him to bring everything else at the interview. They told him that they are only taking what is in their limit, and the same requirements for all applicants. Did anybody experience this at the VFS office in Mumbai?

They only took the following from him.

-PCC

-birth certificate

-Medical

-DS 256, DS 256K

-passport copy

-courier fees

They had already taken the DS 230 Part I and Part II with Packet 3.

Thank you I just went ahead and emailed them, and I will have my fiance call them as well. Its really strange as most all applicants they have accepted the 1-134 in advance.

I told them my fiance went to VFS office, but they told him they will not accept the affidavit of support and our correspondence at this time. So, now he will be bringing this information to the interview. But, I said if they still need the affidavit of support I can scan that to them. Later I just got an automated response and thats it. But, I found out someone else on VJ had a similar experience and just had to bring these documents at the time of the interview. So, its not that bad. Thank goodness he went, because he did not have the local PCC at the time now he does :). So, I recommend VFS to everyone as they can guide you as well :).

Actually, I talked to my wife, i misunderstood.. VFS told my wife to turn in the docs at the interview, they wouldn't take it there.

My fiance submitted his documents this week and he felt they were somewhat disorganized. He had to ask at least three times for them to include one of his documents in those that they collected. They also got confused about his BMB number because it was transfered from New Delhi, and misquoted his interview time. On the positive side, they did inform him that he needs to get his passport related PCC. It's good to know what to expect when you go so you can be sure that things get done. Good luck on your upcoming interview!

For anyone concerned about what the VFS office did not take from you, my fiance had some such documents as well and they accepted them when he presented them.
